About Us

Welcome!

At Tir na nÓg Community Childcare Centre our aim is to provide a happy, safe and secure environment for our children to learn and grow together. We encourage the individual and unique development of each child through a play based, child led curriculum. In our play rooms we incorporate an eclectic and pragmatic approach in our curriculum development to ensure that our children receive meaningful play experiences.

Our Story

Tír na nÓg is a new purpose built state of the art childcare facility located at Rathrippon, Collooney, Co. Sligo. It is a non-denominational community run facility catering for children aged 0-12 years through our 6 purpose built playrooms. We work in line with the preschool regulations through co-operation with our parents, the management committee, Sligo County Childcare Committee and the TUSLA, Pre-School Inspection Team.
We recognise that the formative years in a child’s life are most important in building a foundation for their emotional, educational, social, physical, and communicative learning needs. We aim to give children the best care and attention that is necessary for their development and growth while having fun through play. We create a happy, educational and fun filled environment conducive to developing a child’s personality. To achieve this, we adopt a pragmatic approach to curriculum development in conjunction with Aistear, the Irish Curriculum Framework and Síolta, the Quality Standards Framework.
Tír na nÓg aims to help children to develop the foundations for life. We aspire to build a strong, communicative relationship between child, parent and staff. Together we aim to nurture and encourage creativity and independence and instil values to prepare children for the next stage of their lives.
